Six reasons farmers are choosing a modular woolshed.
Fits most farm sheds
Install it in most farm sheds, so your overall woolshed build can cost much less.
A shed that does more
Because it’s a standard farm shed, it can be half woolshed and half implement shed or covered yards.
Tax deductible*
A standalone, relocatable, bolt-down system, so it’s 25% tax deductible, plus the 20% Investment Boost. *Check with your accountant.
Installed in days
Bolted together on site within a week, not the weeks or months a traditional build takes.
Built to outlast timber
A durable galvanised steel structure that will outlast any traditional timber woolshed fit-out.
Take it with you
Move it to a different shed or farm, so the asset goes with you.
What it consists of
Two ways to bring sheep onto the board. Choose the one that suits your shed, and the rest of the system comes with it.
Choose one Catching pen system
Sheep wait in a catching pen behind each stand. The shearer pushes through the double swing doors, and the doors swing shut behind.
Choose one Race delivery system
Sheep feed in along a race behind the stands. The shearer opens the gate, tips the sheep out, and the spring-loaded gate pulls shut. No catch and drag.
Included Galvanised exhaust chutes
Sloped galvanised steel exhaust chutes. Long lasting and replaceable.
Included Steps and handrails
Galvanised steps and handrails onto the board.
Included Feed ramp and pens
A feed ramp and pens to bring sheep up to the board.
Optional extras
Add these to suit your shearers.
+ Downtube bracket
An L-shaped bracket on top of the downtube frame to hang your shearing plant from.
+ Back aid frame
Back support for each shearer, able to be added as an option.

What shearers say
“I’ve seen the modular shearing platforms Landquip is developing. I’ve used this type of system for around 30 years, and it works very well. I’m sure Landquip’s platforms will be a great option for farmers planning a new woolshed, helping to save on building costs while providing an efficient shearing setup.”
Colin Watson-Paul Veteran Hawke’s Bay Shearing Contractor
“The shearers really like it. They say it’s a lot easier on their bodies, and they can do just as many sheep. No more tip and drag.”

FAQs
- How does ordering work?
Send us your shed size and how many sheep you put through. Where possible, Landquip will visit and measure. We work out how many modules you need and send a clear, itemised quote. The modules take 4 to 6 weeks to manufacture in our Hastings workshop, then they’re delivered ready to bolt together. Landquip recommends we look after the install.
- Will it fit in my shed?
It fits most farm sheds, new or existing. The frames stand on concrete pad footings or a slab, so the shed doesn’t need to be built around the shearing board.
- Catching pens or race delivery?
Choose one. With catching pens, sheep wait behind each stand and the shearer pushes through double swing doors. With race delivery, sheep feed in along a race and the shearer tips them out through a spring-loaded gate. No catch and drag.
- What board layouts are there?
Straight or L-shaped. A straight board is simple and the most cost-effective. An L-shaped board fits stands round a corner and cuts down walking for the shed hands.
- Is it tax deductible?
It’s a standalone, relocatable, bolt-down system, so it’s 25% tax deductible, plus the 20% Investment Boost, unlike a traditional woolshed fit-out. Tax deductibility and the Investment Boost depend on your situation, so check with your accountant.
